Sedentary behaviour assessment - Method selection guide

Dear visitor,

Sedentary behaviors are defined as waking activities of low energy expenditure (≤1.5 times rest) that are completed sitting or reclining; standing activities and sleeping are not defined as sedentary.

In order to guide you in selecting an appropriate method to assess sedentary behaviour in children and adolescents, we need to know first WHAT COMPONENT of sedentary behaviour you are interested in measuring.

Please tick the boxes that are relevant to your project and assessment needs. The next page will display a list of methods that are suitable for measuring these aspects of sedentary behaviour.

Please note that if you are interested in measuring more than one component of sedentary behaviour, you might need to use multiple methods in order to get this information.

Choosing an appropriate method for assessment of sedentary behaviour in children and adolescents

  1. 1) WHAT COMPONENT OF SEDENTARY BEHAVIOUR WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEASURE?

  2. 2) WHAT IS THE AGE OF THE RESPONDENTS?
